Dear Listers Could someone settle a dispute? Have a coloured photo of a relative who was RAAF -attached to RAF -Warrant Officer -Rear Gunner- Lancaster 156 SQD.This photo has recently been enlarged and it clearly shows that beneath his brevet patch and DFC ribbon there is a set of gold wings on top of his uniform pocket. It may be a patch ,may be a badge. Those in the know said that he should not be wearing wings as he was not a pilot.Someone who knows nothing of these things said it looks just like an eagle with wings outstretched The photo would have been taken in the UK between the award of the DFC in Nov 1943 and his death in a flying battle over Germany 23/12/43 Any suggestions as to what this might be Thank you Marilyn
