Thanks Boyd, I stand corrected - my email made no sense, I should have said that the 1st & 2nd Division were split up as you rightly said. It was the fact that one of my relatives was in the 3rd Bn but was returned to the 54th after recovering from wounds that made me look for a reason in the first place, hence Bean.
