Good Morning Linda, K Camp would be Kilmany Camp, the property was used for years as a training area (the owner was very supportive of the local military) I have other photos from this camp, is it possible to get a better scan we (the Gippsland Armed Foces Museum) may be able to indentify some of the members in the photo by comparison. The unit involved was the 10th Light Horse Regiment with its Headquarters in Sale, in 1912 it was renamed 13th Light Horse Regiment with its members recruited from across Gippsland. I now have to admit I have found out more, but I want to say a couple of things in my defence first! The photo was taken as part of documentation of the contents of a needlework basket. I knew it was a photo of people, but I was working so quickly that it was only when I got home I realised they were in military uniform. Or I may have taken more notice at the time. Then, it was only late last night I got to the sheet compiled by the cataloguer for checking. And found the notation "explanation on the other side". By that time I was kicking myself for not unwrapping the lace, but thought it would be just foreground and more boots. Although that black line up the middle was there ..... So I have been for a drive this morning, and looked at it again. And there is a scan of the full photo now at http://static.flickr.com/96/230647680_4a6b823c5d_o.jpg And the label pasted on the back appears almost complete. It reads: ".... K Camp on Thomson River / .....to 28th 1908. Men getting / dinner from Cooks" So there you go. For those unfamiliar with our local geography, the Thomson River is in Gippsland, quite near the current location of the photograph. Wish I had the whole photo. But it is a nice one of the stove.
