    3. A Military Medal issued during WW1 would have carried an image of George V. while one issued during WW2 would have carried an image of George VI. George V reigned from 6 May 1910 to 20 June 1936. George VI reigned 11 dec 1936 to 6 Feb 1952. Medals issued during the reign of George V carried his image and the inscription: GEORGEIVS V BRITT: OMN: REX ET IND: IMP Military Medals awarded during WW2 carried an image of George VI and the inscription: GEORGEIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX ET INDIAE IMP This was changed for the Korean War and the new inscription read: GEORGEIVS VI DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF Daryl Ward
