    1. REGARDING LOOKUPS - STUART/KIRKPATRICK
    2. Jan
    3. Hello everyone, Firstly, let me thank very much the three members of this list who have been very generous in looking up the details for me of the STUART/KIRKPATRICK request I made. Secondly, what struck me immediately was that these three people had done exactly the same job, when the efforts and generosity of one person would have been sufficient. So. I have a suggestion that perhaps Ray (List Admin.) may wish to comment on, as perhaps he would need to oversee/organise this. What if all of you with BDM cd's (or any other resource) work out a day of the week that each of you would be prepared to do a lookup for the rest of us, and any request that comes in on that particular day, then that person does the lookup. The results of the lookup still to be sent to the list, but I just think it would be a much fairer system to share the load, than to have several people spending their own time to find out the same information as each other. Hope I've made sense! What do you think? Jan.

    3. Dear Jan, Firstly, Ray, I apologise if I should not have sent this over the list..... I am one of those , as you say, many people to do look ups for many listers on many lists, and I never consider any time that is spent looking up names for people as wasted time. Yes, sometimes the information that I send may be the same as some others have sent, but I have found in the past that just sometimes, little items are picked up by different people, perhaps different spelling etc... , found with lateral thinking, or even, sometimes, just a guess..... I myself was one of those people who years ago, put my tiny little request on the list for lost rellies, I was astounded by the absolutely wonderful people on the lists that even think to give me the time of day, not knowing me, send what they could to help me out. Yes, I did get lots of similar replies, but how wonderful these listers are.... I myself would find it very difficult not to answer a plea for help, even if it wasnt " my day to look up" what if we all had the notion not to answer listers just because we thought "someone else will do it" ...... it isnt "my day" Jan, if these listers are happy to help when they can, work permitting, family permitting, even at three o'clock in the morning when they can't sleep, I will always be very happy to receive any emails, not matter how similar the content. What you are asking is that the list be "vetted" for info......... me, I would always be happy to get replies from anyone....anytime..... Once again, apologies to Ray and any other listers ....... 3. Hi Gaylene, No apologies needed. I due fairness so others are not worried in up-setting me, I'm not the grumpy old Bugxxx you think I might be! So how about if I throw this open to all for the rest of the week to have your say on the matter? 3. Greetings, Well I have to say it's not such a bad idea, but can see holes in it before I even offer. Personally, I think the idea is a good one, but the trouble is I look after a 90 year old Mother who's had a stroke and a Father that has Alzimers! I could say yes put me in for every Tuesday, but in my own situation here my life is not my own any longer it is controlled by my dear parents, with the example being today we were to have gone to Highpoint Shopping Centre to have photo's done for Mum & Dad as are were to have gone into restbite as of next Monday to give me my first brake in 3 years 24/7 almost, but the arrangements that I'd put in place last night fell apart after Mum had her shower this morning only to find the scratch on her leg had become an ulcer spending the next 5 1/2 hours over at Western General Hospital waiting for and getting treatment, then to come home and run around like a mad man for the next 2 hours getting new medication and also trying to cook dinner for the two of them. So here it is now 12:52a.m. and I've only just got back to my computer to finish downloading my mail for the day and answering it. And I also have to say that this is not the only list I look after, in fact I'm the administrator of 7 other lists. But if other are happy to make a day and volunteer their time of cause I'll support it, or if some are not in any great hurry they are welcome to send direct to me and I'll do what I can when I can to help in any way! I know that Carmel is doing some excellent work not only on this list but also on a number of others, but I'm happy to put it to the open list and ask for comments please?
