HI all that have responded to this post. I agree with Margaret & Gaylene that "we with the resources" can assist people at our leisure. It's the enjoyment, fun & excitment we get helping others to find what we all require - those missing pieces of our jigsaws. WE do also make friends this way. Just yesterday, I spent approx half an hour doing a look up for someone on this list & was ready to send all the details to the person and found that they had cross posted on another list and the same reply I had ready to go had already been answered. Should I have been angry and addressed that person "off list" to say you have wasted my time - NO, I was happy the person was given the correct details - it is the pleasure you get in helping other people. As for the rostered days to do look ups, just wouldn't work for me - I have 5 children that all want to use one of the two computers we have hooked up to internet, and of course always the same time I do, also I work full time, if I had to work to a roster - nothing would ever get done - I am lucky to make it to work on time. I also would like MY time to keep searching for my own pieces of the worlds bigest jigsaw that has no sides. I am now getting off my soap box - sorry Ray Darlene >From: "MargM" <genknut@optusnet.com.au> >Reply-To: AUS-MELBOURNE-L@rootsweb.com >To: AUS-MELBOURNE-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [AUS-MELB] REGARDING LOOKUPS - >Date: Wed, 29 Mar 2006 23:20:49 +1000 > > >----- Original Message ----- From: "Jan" <janealogy@westnet.com.au> >To: <AUS-MELBOURNE-L@rootsweb.com> >Sent: Wednesday, March 29, 2006 8:33 PM >Subject: [AUS-MELB] REGARDING LOOKUPS - STUART/KIRKPATRICK > > >>Hello everyone, >> >>Firstly, let me thank very much the three members of this list who have >>been very generous in looking up the details for me of the >>STUART/KIRKPATRICK request I made. >> >>Secondly, what struck me immediately was that these three people had done >>exactly the same job, when the efforts and generosity of one person would >>have been sufficient. > >Hi Jan > >>So.
