(They are only open 2 days a week) I also have a friend who tries to get to Melbourne once a fortnight or so and takes a car load so I may be able to follow it up for you at some stage. If you do get to Melbourne you need to order your records before you get there. If you take a digital camera you are able to photograph much of it. There are a few restrictions but you just ask at the counter as you pick them up and they will give you a copyright form to fill in so they know what you have photographed. The pics come up well. I took my laptop and was able to download straight from my camera to the computer and check the pics were clear. My parents surname Jones received a telegram sent to 116 Yarra Street Abbotsford in 1948. On our last trip to Victoria I went to Yarra Street to see the house. I would appreciate it if sks has access to a Melbourne PO directory if they could look up this address in 1948 to see if my parents names are listed.
