I am looking for the marriage and deaths of James CURTIS and his wife Maria FARRANT I have located the births of 8 children all born in or around Melbourne. Laura b 1869 St Kilda William b 1870 Windsor d 1870 Windsor Edith b. 1872 Prahran Evelyn b 1874 Prahran Hilda b 1875 Prahran Chester b 1878 d 1878 Prahran James b 1882 Vic Florence b c1894 ? she died at Moe in 1974 I am fairly sure they did not move from Victoria but I can't seem to find the deaths of James or Maria anywhere, am hoping their deaths will show me where they were born. Any ideas greatly appreciated Lynne

Some of the births for the children have the father as Charles James Curtis Some of the childrens death's show father as being James Wayland Curtis or Arthur James Wallen Curtis or James Weylan. Mother is shown as Maria Cecelia Farrant in the death record of Florence. I can find nothing of Maria & James however the above may help some other lister to help with the query. Thanks very much for that, Chris, think we may have found James Curtis's death in 1901 but Maria FARRANT is still a mystery, an old relative said she came to Victoria with her parents and at least one sister named Florence and is sure they stayed in Victoria all the time. I can't find a marriage or a death for her, she had at least 9 children and they all stayed in Victoria. Her youngest child Florence, would have only been 7 years of age when her husband died and Florence never married and died in Moe I am going to take a guess and say she lived with her.
