Hi Carmel, Thanks. The James Austin isn't the father either. I now know that Justina went to New Zealand and married over in Dunedin on the 18 July 1864 to John Joseph CONNOR. Got this from Sue. She suspects Alfred may have gone over there too as there is a marriage to Ellen BURKE on the 29 April 1874 there. However, I think I would go with Colleen's find in NSW of two deaths ...one in Granville (Austin) in 1921 and the other in Burwood (Alfred) in 1831. That's not to say Alfred didn't marry in NZ but there are a lot of other POWERs over there...unrelated. To take it a wee bit further there is another Marriage in Marylebone, London in 1873 which I had thought was the younger Austin.....before I knew they came to Australia....and then thought it may have been Austin Snr returning to where he had come from. But then he would be 56 years old by then. A Rootsweb family tree has it down as Austin Synus POWER and Harriet BARDON. Their marriage certificate does not mention his middle name I'm afraid...and Harriet's maiden name is actually BARDENS. Thank you for your help Carmel.
