Hello Robert, No sign of James as a tailor in 1892 Sands & Mc Dougall directory. In 1904 a Frederick Mitchell was listed as a tailor at 96 Bridport St, South Melbourne. Lots of entries for James Mitchell, but none who specify any of them as a tailor. Also under the trade listing for tailors, Fred is listed at Bridport St, but no mention of James. There are two possibilities for both Fred & James in 1929 in their suburbs of residence but no entries for any type of business as I guess they would have been retired by then. Frederick: 16 MacGregor St, East Malvern or 18 Tooronga Rd, East Malvern. James: 374 Danks St, Albert Park or 175 Beaconsfield Parade, Albert Park. best wishes, Jenny Coates Melbourne's Unemployed in the 1890s http://home.primusonline.com.au/jennyc/Melbourne/
