Hi listers, Robyn of Geelong here. I think I'm losing the plot, I've had so much info sent to me over the last few days! I've managed to sort most of it out and now I have a whole new family to research and this is where the fun really starts. But getting back to my original request, I have to report that the mystery lady in the grave seems not to be a mystery any more! It looks like Mary Reed/Robinson/Jackson married AGAIN to a William Burdett, although no marriage entry has been found to date. They may have even married interstate. Now I'm on the hunt for a death for Wm Burdett. Then Ray stepped in and did some asking at the Melb Cem for me, and he and Gina (from the Cem) came forth with extra info on the burial. Mary Burdett was the owner of the plot. And as the person who signed the burial papers for Mary was Mary's son Joseph Jackson, I then asked Ray to have a search for Joseph to see if and when he married ( just because I wanted to know more about him).... and here the plot thickens! I have Joseph's will and there is no wife mentioned, but Ray came up with a wife (but no marriage yet!) and a family of 9 kids! In between Ray getting info to me, others have chipped in and given me info, clues and suggestions....all very much appreciated! One would think I was a novice at this game, but I have been researching for about 20 years, and this was one of those 'problem' families that I put off delving into... until now! So right now I must express my sincere 'thank you' to; Ray, Gina, Sherrie, Evelyn, Carmel, Bernadette, Colleen, Jessie, Beryl, Marita and Peter. You are all very generous people, and on a top list to boot. My apologies to anyone I may have missed, but I have been keeping tabs :)
