I've discovered that in genealogy, "never give up" is a good motto. Now that you've discovered that your Mary appears to have married (to whom, when, remaining a mystery), and to have died in 1896, and been buried with husband JACKSON, you might turn your attention to the remaining mysteries. If Mary's death certificate gives a residential address, then you might check directories for that name, and that address (there are three separate alpha, street, & trade lists). If Mr BURDETT survived to 1899, he may be on the Federation Referendum Roll. With a precise date of Mary's death, a tedious search of newspapers may reveal some extra clue. And the probate indices are worth a try. If Mary is listed, it will show her as "widow", or "married woman", which is a clue whether to look forward or backward for Mr BURDETT. That's her, and a real pity that her parents are unknown. There is no headstone, just a metal fence. Don't know where to go from here! cheers, Robyn.
