Hi Leanne, In Sands & McDougall 1929 there is a "Llandyssil" in Scott St Essendon under private hospitals. In the street section, LLandyssil is listed at No. 4 Scott St (second house block from Buckley St West), with Nurses Seward and Martin as owners/proprietors. A Rupert Seward was living at No. 6 so was perhaps a relative? Neither Nurse Seward or Martin are listed under 'Nurses', but they are listed in the alphabetical section, but with no further info. No occupation is given for Rupert. best wishes, Jenny Coates Melbourne's Unemployed in the 1890s http://home.primusonline.com.au/jennyc/Melbourne/ -----Original Message----- From: Leanne Baulch <lea.dave@cairns.net.au> To: AUS-MELBOURNE-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Mon, 1 May 2006 11:30:50 +1000 Subject: [AUS-MELB] Private Hospitals Hi everyone, I have a photo in my possession of a Private Hospital in Melb taken around the '30s or 40's. I believe it may be a hospital called Avonhurst or Llandysil. My great aunt worked in these hospitals around this time. Hoping someone may be able to help.
