    2. Hello Linda, Have a look in the archives of this list as I think the Immigrants Home has been talked about before, though I believe it was for a much earlier period. However from my research I think you are correct about the Home in the 1890s. I have 2 of 'my' unemployed men living at the Immigrants Home in 1892/3. The address given was St Kilda Rd. One of them was married with no kids and the other a widower with no kids. They had been unemployed for 18 mths and 2 years so would have been destitute. If anyone else has more specific info on this place for the 1890s I'd love to hear about it. best wishes, Jenny Coates Melbourne's Unemployed in the 1890s http://home.primusonline.com.au/jennyc/Melbourne/ -----Original Message----- From: Linda MacDonald <lindamacdon@yahoo.com> To: AUS-MELBOURNE-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Sun, 9 Apr 2006 08:18:17 -0700 (PDT) Subject: [AUS-MELB] [Aus Melb] Immigrant House Hello, Does anybody know anything about Immigrant House in the 1890s?
