Hi Jenni, The only Ellen LYLE birth I found (on AVRI) was b. 1866.......I think this one would have been too young to have married in 1877... The marriage to Samuel ALEXANDER occurred in 1877 in Launceston......but was registered in Victoria. There were 5 ALEXANDER children (AVRI for Victoria only goes to 1888) up until 1887, all born in Colac, Victoria. Do you have the names of these children? There are 3 boys and 2 girls. Hi Jenni & Leona, Be very cautious about the AVRI. In many cases the places have been confused. For example, with Victorian marriages the place listed is the place of birth of the first person named - not the place of the event.
