Hello List. This is a longshot and possibly with the scant information I have is impossible to answer. Does anyone have any information of a Catholic Convent for unmarried mother's back in the 1950's. The only info I have is that it was at the terminus of a train journey from the city. I realise this is nothing to really go on, but maybe someone will remember something. Regards. Perle Brooking. Younghusband. South Australia.
Hi It may be St Joseph's at Broadmeadows . I know a number of Catholic friends went there to pick up babies that were adopted. Margaret
The St. Joseph Home at Broadmeadows is the only Catholic Home at the end of a train line which terminated there in the 1950s. It was on the south side of Camp Road (right) if you are coming towards Sydney Road.
