Hi listers. The Genealogical Society of Victoria has a free search feature on their website and on it I found several references to a record of two of my ancestors. The "type of records" were "Criminal Record" and "Gazetted". To find what information they contain, it seems, I would have to pay a joining fee of $15.00 and an annual subscription of $69.00 and then go to their rooms in Melbourne to view the records. As I cannot afford these fees and I live about 200 kms from Melbourne, I am wondering if there is some other means of accessing these particular records? The search results as given on the GSV website are as follows - AH CUE, Victoria Criminal records 1850-1900 Born: 1837 AH CUE, SARAH. Victoria Criminal records 1855-1918 CUE, Ah. Wangaratta Gazetted 20/06/1879 I believe these to be of my gggrandfather Ah CUE, a market gardener of Wangaratta, and his wife Sarah Hannah (Doncaster) CUE. Does anybody have any advice on this subject, that might assist me please? Thanks, Barry Howard, Victoria, Australia.
Hello Barry, I have had a look at the GSV website, but cannot see how to get any free search facility. Would you be kind enough to explain the way to search a name free? Do I have to buy membership? Thank you kindly.
