Hi Anne, Your Cd may be ok after all. It appears the Wangaratta Cemetery Burial Register has my G/grandfather's name the wrong way around. I had another look at my printed copy of Ah Cue's entry in the register and it seems they have used the name Ah as his surname and Cue as his christian name. I had not noticed this before. So this may account for the anomally on the Cd. His grave location is - Section, C of E, No.1 - Plot, 678C. Buried 8 January 1902. Ah Cue's eldest daughter Ethel Maude is buried there also, but she is under her married name - Delloro. Regards, Barry Howard. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anne Hanson" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2008 6:28 PM Subject: Re: [AUS-MELBOURNE] Cue > Hi Barry, > > I find this most curious as I checked both the burial register and the > Memorials Index on the Wangaratta Cemetery CD and could find no mention of > Cue. Barry Take heart, I believe Ah is in fact a title such as Mr. so many Chinese who were known as Ah were in fact Mr. or such. I am in the middle of a cemetery project where there were a lot of Chinese so we are doing two entries for each as often there surname would be used first etc. very confusing but we hope we are covering the problem.
