Hi Barry - I have checked the burial register of the Brighton General Cemetery and no sign of William Cue (d 1956). If he was cremated, may still possibly be at Brighton. By all means, contact the Cemetery to get a second opinion. Kind regards Travis M. Hello Anne, I have been researching my CUE family for some time and have not found any connection with your Samuel Cue, or Castlemaine either for that matter. William was indeed the son of Sarah Hannah Doncaster, but the Death Index has his father's name wrong, it was not John. William Cue's father was a Chinese market gardener, originally from Canton China, but settled in Wangaratta. His name was Ah Cue and he married Sarah in 1869. Ah Cue was my maternal great grandfather. They had eight children, my grandmother being the 7th. After Ah Cue died in 1902 the family was split up and some of the children were adopted out and lost contact with each other. They have all past on now of course, but it is my desire to find the final resting place of all my grandmother's siblings. William's is one that I don't have and also that of his brother Henry who's death year also remains a mystery.. Thankyou for your interest in my query, much appreciated. Regards, Barry Howard. ---------------------------------------------------------- -----Original Message----- Hi Barry I am intrigued by the name CUE because it is a name that appears in my own family history. Am wondering if you have a Samuel CUE born 25 November 1890 at Castlemaine - Father Samuel, Mother, Anne Batty. It looks from the Vic. Death Index that your William's parents were John & Sarah (nee DONCASTER). See that you've tried Fawkner, Springvale & St. Kilda why not send an e-mail to Melbourne General Cemetery. Their e-mail address is: [email protected] Cheers Anne
