    1. [AUS-MELBOURNE] Seeking to find Walter McKINNIN in Victoria
    2. KEMSLEY, Robert N. G.
    3. Within the family; we've a Walter McKINNIN. Walter McKINNIN married a Margaret Ellen BRYANT here in Sydney in November of 1942. The Marriage Certificate records Walter as being 28 b) Belfast, Ireland. Father: John McKINNIN - Engine Driver Mother: Mary KELLY This would make Walter b) 1914. Walter told family; He was born 1900. His Father married (1) Agnes THOMPSON (A Dancing Teacher in Scotland) (2) Mary KELLY & that he (Walter) was raised by his Step Mother. He came out to Australia when 13 and again when 16; lying about age and jumping ship Worked a farm in WA with a brother whom he argued with; walking off farm; leaving to his brother Another brother going to Canada He had sisters Isabel & Margaret This would make him b) Scotland and raise Belfast, Ireland? No record of Birth can be found Belfast, Ireland 1900-1914. How or when he came to Australia is a real mystery and nothing is really known about until he appeared in Sydney in 1942 to marry; thereafter appearing on the Electoral Rolls. I am aware of when and where he was after his Marriage, but try as I might; I just cannot find any trace of pre his Marriage. I have been searching in Western Australia, but if has been suggested that he may have lived Victoria prior to his marriage in 1942. I do know that he moved from Sydney to the Melbourne in late 1945 and remained till his death in 1989. If anyone is researching the McKINNIN name, can assist in any way; I would be ever so very grateful, as I've been at it on and off since mid 1988 without success and now just don't know where next to look. Regards; Robert KEMSLEY
