I am hoping some one who has not long bought the new Windows program 7 who knows how to re load all Cd's from the past few years. that is the Victorian Indexes for BMD's, Melbourne General CD ,South Aus BMD's and the Tasmanian Indexes and anything else that is at least 5 years old and over. I cannot get then to load onto hard drive. What is the answer please. If anyone has an idea could they please tell me in very simple terms how to etc. Many thanks Elaine in Melbourne
Hi Elaine, Judging from comments made on this list over the past few weeks it seems that some people are able to use their Vic BDM cds with Windows 7 while others are not. I don't know the reason for this but in my own case it is because I am using the 64bit version of Windows 7 and my 32bit Vic BDM cds are not compatible. I overcame my problem by running Windows 7 in "XP Mode" which allowed me to install the cds ok. It is my understanding however, that XP Mode is not available in the Home, or Home Premium, versions but does come with Windows 7 Professional or higher. The fact that some people are able to install the cds tells me that there is a way around the problem somehow, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Perhaps someone on the list can be of more help to you. Regards, Barry Howard, Victoria, Aust.
