Fran A lot of ministers apparently never sent in the registrations so it is not uncommon not to find a marriage. BDM have been collecting records from a lot of churches and there is a project in progress to index all of these but no word on when they will be available. I have a few I am looking for as well so hanging for these new ones. It could be some time, unfortunately. He was supposedly from Westminster London and she was from Scotland, no birth records or immigration dates yet found nor when either came to Australia I have tried BDM's in varied years, and many other sites, also tried other states, without any results..No clues on his death certificate 1865 (Coroner) Previous correspondence on these sites have advised to go to the church records but because I don't know which church, can anyone advise where I might get records for Wesleyan Parsonage or the The Bible Christian Parsonage both of Hotham, also Methodist church Richmond Many thanks in advance for your time Fran ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to AUS-MELBOURNE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Re the project mentioned below, the AIGS Quarterly magazine has a column from the BDM Registry, the March 2010 column says in part EARLY CHURCH RECORDS DVD PROJECT Work continues on this DVD containing approximately 77,000 baptism, burial and marriage records, predoiminantly registered in Victorian churches during the years 1836 to 1853, Over 10,000 images of the original certificates will also be included. News on the DVD release is coming soon. Roll on the release is what I say please.
