Using the "Book" search on Google can turn up some useful historical Australian publications. I was looking for info on Victoria's 'Caledonia Goldfield' and use that as a search term and the 1866-67 directory was included in the list of search results. If you do a search yourself be sure to click on the "Full Text" option in the left margin of the results page, this will then show you the results for books and magazines that are fully readable online.
