    1. [AUS-MELBOURNE] Needing help with Windows 7
    2. Elaine Jefferson
    3. I am hoping some one who has not long bought the new Windows program 7 who knows how to re load all Cd's from the past few years. that is the Victorian Indexes for BMD's, Melbourne General CD ,South Aus BMD's and the Tasmanian Indexes and anything else that is at least 5 years old and over. I cannot get then to load onto hard drive. What is the answer please. If anyone has an idea could they please tell me in very simple terms how to etc. Many thanks Elaine in Melbourne

    3. Hi Barry, Am cleaning out my inbox and just read your posting. I have Windows 7 and am having no problems running the Vic. Pioneer CD mmmm .... a bit strange. Anne -----Original Message----- From: aus-melbourne-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-melbourne-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of BRH Sent: Saturday, 27 February 2010 3:54 PM To: aus-melbourne@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AUS-MELBOURNE] Windows 7 Hi Folks, I have found Windows 7 to be compatible with most of my Win XP software except for the Macbeth Victorian Pioneer BDM cds. However, they run well when in "XP Mode" in Windows 7. The catch is that XP Mode is not available in the Home or Home Premium versions of Win 7, you need Windows 7 Professional or higher. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64bit OEM (cost AU$160) and it works well with all of my 32bit programs. The only drawback that I can see is that Windows 7 does not come with an imbedded email program (such as Outlook Express did with Windows XP). You either have to use the web based WindowsLive program or do like I did and install Mozilla's Thunderbird email program which works well on Win 7. I also use Firefox as my web browser because of the security issues associated with Microsoft's Internet Explorer, it is well known that IE has all sorts of virus and malware weaknesses. 3. Hi there I was wondering if someone can tell me what country Trieste is currently part of. I am aware that it has been part of several countries over the years. One of my Nicholson ancestors states that he was born there in 1858. Can anyone suggest how I can look for his birth? With thanks. Dennis Schinkel

    3. I have not had any success with the site all day I did ask is it because I changed emails. Surely it recognises the server not the email. I phoned Ancestry for help but I came away even more unhappy. I haven't looged put sincel ast Monday as I was using the old email, but not long after that we changed, but not the server.
