    1. [AUS-MELBOURNE] Death Henry Carroll
    2. Heather Armstrong
    3. CARROLL.--On the 9th inst., at the Alfred Hospital, Henry Carroll (late of Northcote), aged 60. Deeply lamented The Argus (Melbourne, Vic. : Saturday 10 March 1894 As the name, place and age fit that of my gr gr grandfather I tried to purchase this death cert on line but the search produced no results. My Henry Carroll was born c 1834 in Limerick, Ireland and arrived in Melbourne in 1857. He was a saddler by trade. He married Catherine Maher or Meagher 09 April 1860. Catherine died 27 July 1884 and is buried in the General Cemetery, Melbourne. I don't know where Henry was living at the time of his death nor when he died. Most of his children were born in Northcote. I could not find a will on line. Can any one find the registration number for the Alfred Hospital 1894 death or confirm that this is the right Henry. Could Henry be buried with his wife? I found the General Cemetery webside but could not find a link to burial records or monumental inscriptions. Heather Armstrong

    1. [AUS-MELBOURNE] TABART surname
    2. Goldstraw
    3. Good afternoon all, I am interested in finding descendents of Clive Gerard TABART and wife Jean. I was just checking the Nominal Roll for my uncle Charles Reginald Whitford TABART and found another TABART, that being Clive. On the certificate is states he enlisted at Caulfield. My son's second name is Whitford after Charles Whitford TABART from Tasmania. Actually Clive was born at St Helens Tasmania in 1901. If anyone is researching this branch I'd like to make contact. My dad was Cecil Lyell Mackie TABART born Queenstown, Tasmania in 1911 Hoping someone is out there. Cheers Chris

    3. In the hope of putting some meat on the bones of my Morgan ancestors I am searching for anyone who may be connected with family of Mary Eleanor Daly, known as Molly. She was a family friend of the Morgans and a lifelong friend of Mrs Margaret Morgan (nee O'Meara). Margaret was licensee of the Cross Keys Hotel in Essendon, Victoria, Australia after the death of her husband, John Felix Morgan in 1907. According to Vic death records, Mary Daly's parents were James Daly and Ann Mullany. She died at Coburg in 1945. Kerryn

    2. KEMSLEY, Robert N. G.
    3. A very good evening to you Max; Sincere thanks for your response to my previous posting. Initially; the Certificate that your Late Son received; sounded similar to that sent my family, but; it doesn't sound quite the same? The Certificate sent my family was signed by the Premier of Victoria: John CAIN, but unfortunately; it's undated. The wording thereon is as follows: "In recognition of the long and valuable contribution you have made to our great State, the Government of Victoria congratulates you in this 150th Anniversary Year" Together with the Certificate; there was a Medallion (Depicting the logo of the Sesquicentenary) and also a letter from the Premier, which was addressed to: "Dear Honoured Citizen" The 1st Paragraph of the letter (Also signed by the Premier and undated) reads as follows: "To mark the occasion of Victoria's 150th Anniversary, the Government of Victoria has decided to honour all those citizens of Victoria who were born on or before the Federation of Australia, 1 January 1901" Kindest Regards; Robert KEMSLEY ----- Original Message ----- From: "Max" <dormax@netspace.net.au> To: <aus-melbourne@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, May 13, 2010 10:43 AM Subject: Re: [AUS-MELBOURNE] Recipients of Medallion to Celebrate Victoria's 150th Birthday? > Hi Robert > > I have a Certificate > Presented to > My Late Son > it is dated 16.11.1984 > > In Commemoration of > Victoria's 150th > Anniversary > 1984-85 > > signed > John Cain > Premier > and > Robert Fordham > Minister of Education > > Not sure if this will be of help to you > > regards > > > Max
