    2. Diane Cole
    3. Thanks for the prod, I have been meaning to send in my list. My interests in Melbourne are: The family of Guy COLE and his two wives, Elizabeth and Martha. Their children were Thomas, Robert, George, Charlotte, Martha and William. I am also interested in their cousin John COLE who arrived per Westminster 1839. Associated family names include BECKWITH, LYONS, WYETT, WELLS, HOLLICK, WASHINGTON, MORTON, HALL, MAPLESTONE, MATHERS, BAILEY, WARRY, LYNE, BLAYNE, OLIVER, MAY. Especially interested in William BAILEY, arrived 1861, councillor at Malvern council 1879-1887. Took over Cole's Nursery at Malvern, later moved to NarreWarren. Also the family of Robert Burr PARSONS and Naomi HALL, associated names DARK, WHEELER, SAYER. I would also love to hear from anyone who knows anything about the family properties - Richmond Nursery at Richmond, Twyford and Shorland at Upper Hawthorn, Gardiners Cottage at Gardiners Creek( Malvern), Allen's Gate at Malvern, Harrow Hill at Cheltenham, St Heliers at Abbotsford, Ferndale at Tyabb, Larnoo and Minto at Merricks and Glen Harrow at Belgrave. 2. Ross Dunn
    3. Hi Leanne Thanks for your response. He could well have done so. There is folk lore of him having been sent to Australia as a remittence man, also of him being sent to join a brother who was farming, and another of him having met Ned Kelly. If he was born in 1866 as he claimed he would have been only 14 when Ned kelly was hanged. But, like all folklore, there may be glimmers of truth mixed up somewhere. I did find a Charles William Dunn who was born in Melbourne in 1865 or thereabouts, but he died in Melbourne in 1938.
