    3. Don't make that assumption Lyn re mother dead or they would have asked. I have some of mine where the baby born - all details correct on birth cert - dies a day or two later, with - mother unknown etc. I think agents for hospitals or funeral directors or such may not have gathered the information before they went to register the death - or if they ahd the information, coiuld not be bothered writing it out / telling the registrar. Was the informant a close family memmber or someone else? I have a death cert, a different one, where the first wife's maiden name was wrong. Informant came from the second marriage - and actually they did not make too bad a shot - got the first couple of letters right anyway, and the fact she came from Cambridgeshire.. BAMP is listed on Registration No 5290 in the name of John WALKER, died 1855 BLAC is listed on Registration No 2759 same name. I have really hit a brick wall on this couple so any advice would be greatly appreciated. John & Marianne Walker have a child in 1850, John Robert, Reg No 16963 his Birth Certificate is a church Record and does not give much information. Then a daughter in 1852 Reg No 17578 again not much info on the Record. She died aged 1 mth Reg No 21244 We have John Robert Walkers, death certificate who died in SA and all it says father John Walker mother Marianne Unknown. I have searched all the Marianne's, Marian's, Mary Ann's and Mary's in both Vic, NSW and SA for a death and am now trying all the John Walker's. I am sure they stayed in Vic as his son had a shop in Melbourne or rather he was a "Storekeeper". I think Marianne (mother) may have died early as on John Robert's marriage certificate it still says "mother Marianne Unknown" surely he could have ask her if she was alive. 1. Old Melbourne Cemetery- A bit of digging.
    2. Marina & Bruce Borland
    3. Located this information about this old cemetery, now Queen Victoria Market site. There is a Microfiche of Alphabetical Record of burials at PROV, covering the era, 1866 -1917. Exhumation of bodies began in 1920. Only marked graves were exhumed. 525 were identified. 70 significant memorials were identified and relocated to the Fawkner Park Old Pioneer Section. Other bodies were reinterred at cemeteies around Melbourne. No burial records exist prior to 1866, as records were destroyed in a fire at the gatekeepers lodge in 1865. 3. Hi everyone :-) My name is Tamara. I’m wondering whether anyone can help me discover more about the following person. My Great Grandfather had a cartoon drawing done of him in the first world war in France 1917. On the bottom of this picture was the following information about the artist. VASTO late bulletin Melbourne artist. Does anyone know more about ‘vasto’. I haven’t been able to find anything out by ‘googling’. Are there any archives of this paper? When I google it nothing comes up about a ‘bulletin’ in Melbourne. Any advice or help would be so appreciated, thank you, Tamara. -- Internal Virus Database is out-of-date.
