Hi all I also looked at this family when first posted and could not find anything BUT I thought that registration of Birth's Deaths & Marriages did not become law(?) until 1855, therefore if the two children died after arrival in 1852 and before 1855 they would only be listed (maybe) in a church register - is this correct??     3. Hi Robyn, I really have no clue on what hospital this is except it is one of the most attractive hospitals I have seen. Sadly I cannot scan the photo as the photo is very long. It is 3 photos all aligned perfectly.The hospital is made up of 4 main buildings with a circular driveway in the front and a Model T parked near one of the buildings. There is also no clue where in Melb this is as there are no real clues in the background. My 2 great aunts Hilda May and Agnes Williams were both nurses and both worked in these 2 hospitals.(So I believe). Hi Chris, My Doyle family arrived on the Afghan 1879 in NSW, but are listed on PROV as having arrived in Melb, this was because the ship stopped there first, but they did not disembark and continued onto Sydney, so for ages I searched for them in the wrong State, also, one child was listed on the original passenger list (I managed to obtain a copy of this from their departure in London) and it stated her name was Charlie, but PROV listed her as Mary, her birth record states Mary Agnes, so maybe you could search other States for his arrival and also check the passenger list again looking for name variations. Gabbe is not a common name, maybe he was related to Clare and Marie Gabbe, same ship, dates etc, have you tried a quick search on them following their arrival in Victoria ? Just a thought !!!
