    3. Hi Wendy, My Mum (still living) is from the Keating family: John and Mary Keating arrived 1850 on the Maitland One of their sons, William Keating is my Mum's grandfather, his brother John Keating married HONORA CROWE in Kyneton and they had a daughter Mary Keating who married PATRICK BRODERICK in Shepparton. Do you think this is the same family ? My Mum's mother was JULIA KEATING, born Kyneton. 3. Hi Dorne, Many thanks for your assistance. I do not have a death cert on John Doyle or Eliza Bridget O'Neill, as I know nothing of them except their arrival per PROV with children, James, John, Thomas, Joseph Patrick, Mary Agnes, Francis and William Henry. I have a copy of the original hand written passenger list of the AFGHAN when it departed London Aug 1879 and also one on arrival in Melb and the one where they are departing for Sydney, the Doyle family and crew seem to be the only ones listed on the ship's list to Sydney and William Henry Doyle was missing. I can not fnd a thing on any of the family after they arrived in Sydney, except our grandfather, JOHN BARTHOLOMEW DOYLE, born Wexford 1864, he settled in the Bourke/Dubbo area and had 8 daughters. On his death cert it states he was born in Wexford Ireland to parents John and Eliza (as above) and who he married etc, just the normal entries. I do not think they returned to Vic, they may have just dropped John off in Bourke then sailed back to Wexford !!!! 3. Hi fellow Listers: Another Fellow Lister was good enough to find the following for us: "Frederick Mitchell was listed as a tailor at 96 Bridport St, South Melbourne". Up until now; we've assumed that both James & Frederick MITCHELL, Tailors of Melbourne had their shop in Melbourne's CBD, but we are now wondering if it was at this address; 96 Bridport St, South Melbourne? Fredericks 2 eldest Sons; William Kent & Herbert Frederick were also Tailors. Does anyone know this area and if so; is there a shop or shops heresabouts? We've also a couple of photos of the MITCHELL Tailors shop: It's a 2 story building (With similar on both sides of and abutting) with 2 windows above the shop. Across the top of doorway and above the road gutter is a sign - "304 Practical Tailors" Below this and across the Glass Display Windows is "MITCHELL & McCABE"; this is also repeated below the windows. Does this help in any way; to identify the shop and it's then whereabouts? Bearing in mind; that this would have been some years back now? Kindest Regards; Robert KEMSLEY

Charles died at sea and Francis died the following year. Then mother...Harriet....died in 1856. First off is there some way of finding out where Francis and Harriet were buried? I have found out that Justina went to Dunedin, New Zealand and married there in 1863. So I would like to find out the ship that she left on, and whether her two brothers, Austin and Alfred went overseas at all. And also if her father, Austin POWER returned to England or stayed in Australia. Mention has been made that the two brothers may have died in NSW at Granville (1921)and Burwood (1931). 3. Leanne If you go back into the site there is a list Apply; search for history indexes, download an image to your printer etc go to download image... which will take you to collect images, you can then put in the image collection reference number which should then take you to a page which will show you the certificate reference, you should be able to click on that. but then you may need to click on something else, this area seems a little clunky. You need adobe acrobat reader to be able to download. Remember to save it to your hard drive before printing, that way you will have a digital copy as well. 1. Prison records?
    2. Hello. At some time in the early 1930's my uncle John David Robinson b. 1909 England, went to prison somewhere in Melbourne. He lived in the St Kilda area. He and his wife are dead, they have no family. Is there any way I can find out what he did? By 1937 he was in WA, presumably to make a fresh start. Any ideas where I might look would be appreciated. I am in UK. Yours Noelene Cummins.

I found them very obliging so give that a try.
