Hi Lisa, It looks like Alexander may have died in 1994... Fawkner Cemetery... http://tinyurl.com/lvudn Perhaps if you call Fawkner Cemetery, http://www.fcmp.com.au/index.asp?page=contact.asp they may be able to put you in touch with the next of kin. Lisa As Raymond has said there does not seem to be any A or M Kostenko's anywhere. But their imigration and Naturalization papers are at the National Archives. You can request these on line. http://www.naa.gov.au/default.html go into search and just put in the surname, there are about 25 hits. http://www.whitepages.com.au/wp/search/search_text.jhtml is the phone books for Australia. Alexander Kostenko passed away 8th May 1994 and is burried at Fawkner cemetery. Fawkner Crematorium And Memorial Park wishes to advise that the location of the buried remains of the late Alexander Kostenko who passed away on Sunday, May 08, 1994, aged 72 are located at Ukrainian Compartment A Grave 346. Maybe there is someone going to the State Library who can look in the newpaper for death notices. Hope this all helps Carmel ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lisa Burger" <ford4x4@epix.net> To: <AUS-MELBOURNE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, May 29, 2006 12:37 PM Subject: [AUS-MELB] Anastasia and Alexander Kostenko of Bulleen >I am trying to find my grandmother's sister. Hi Ray After reading your posting, I just had to write and say "good on you for trying!". There's no accounting for some people's rudeness, but perhaps there are some skeletons in the cupboard that people don't want disturbed??? Larraine
Hi Lisa, Well I spoke to a Mr. V Kostenko, he was so rude and abusive to me over the phone and after his abuse he slammed the phone down in me ear. So I wasn't able to get any information out of him. Here is the info maybe he might talk to you or you could write to him? V. Kostenko 31 Neville Street, Glen Huntly 3163 9576-9653. or the other one is A. Kostenko 59 Torbay Street, Macleod 3085 9432-3531 Regards, Ray. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lisa Burger" <ford4x4@epix.net> To: <AUS-MELBOURNE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, May 29, 2006 12:37 PM Subject: [AUS-MELB] Anastasia and Alexander Kostenko of Bulleen >I am trying to find my grandmother's sister. Hi Eric, thank you for that. Makes it very interesting. I know Myrtle did not have a happy life. Have found her sister Emily still alive, and she told me that she had to help Myrtle out financially a few times. The sisters then lost touch. Emily did not know where Myrtle or Nellie ended up.
