    3. Hi Alan, If you can't find the ship's list in full on the internet, then you'll have to purchase the list to find out such details. They're only about $17 from memory. Kind regards, Sherrie. 3. Alan The idea of the numbers after the names is that there MAY be 2 different films or fiche you can view. Often it gives details of where they came from, parents names, whether living or not, and where they were going for employment. It is very important to follow up those reference numbers. Margaret

    3. Hello, I am still unsuccessful in tracking down my great grandfather George Williams,( born London 1828) and after noticing recent mail thought the electoral rolls might be a direction which could help. I would greatly appreciate information from the electoral rolls if anyone has it available. George came to Victoria on the Sussex in 1853. He married Margaret Wilkins that same year. Their children included George, Fanny, Edward, Elizabeth and Margaret. George was still alive when they left Clunes and lived in Gladstone Tasmania in the 1880's. My grandmother Margaret, married in Collingwood in 1906 and the marriage certificate says George is deceased. I have looked for George's death in Tasmania and Victoria with no success. I just spent 2 hours sitting at the BMD in Collins Street waiting for a death certificate for 'George Williams' married to Margaret, death Clunes in 1899, BUT not him!! wrong children etc. Admitedly the age did not look quite right but I thought perhaps bad writing ie. 0 and 9 confusion. WISHFUL THINKING!! regards, Margaret Brookes

    3. G'day Julie, thanks for all of this lets try to get on the same track 'cos I think we're looking at different people or, I'm confused a bit. Let us say Walter is the Soldier Father and Wally is the Tailor son the only real evidence I have is Wally's Marriage Cert to who I believe is his 2nd wife Annie Paterson it is also Annie's 2nd Marriage her 1st marriage was to James Paterson so she was Annie McKillop before that. James in Emerald Hill 1862 making Annie a widow. On this wedding Cert I have she says she was widowed 1883, why? I haven't been able to find another marriage for her between these two. you have listed some of her kids but I know all about them. Now back to Wally he says on the Cert that his parents are Walter and Mary (nee) Taylor and that he is aged 67 at the time of this wedding. The wedding date is 9/3/1886 so if he was 67y/o then his birth year would be 1816. Hi Col Sending it all again so if you nee help I will have something to come back to.
