Great stuff Jenny, Yes I do know Ernie's parents Stanley James Paterson and Annie Kathleen Carroll. Ernest was the 3rd of 4 kids they had 3 boys and a girl the girl I have met but sadly Dementia has her in its grip now so she is not a lot of help from her nursing home in Melb. She is the last survivor of that family. She had 6 children and can't remember their names. I am sure we all have 'lations with similar problems these days. I appreciate your efforts and I would get hold of Ernest's Death Certificate if I could find the number I've been told he is buried at Fawkner would they be able to add anything? Col

G'day all, I have the above rellie who was born in Shepparton March 1920 he married Veronica Carlton 1944 in Melbourne later the same year after he was de-mobbed. They had one child that I know of born 1945. I have been told that he re-married and had another child with his 2nd wife he died apparently an alcoholic, possibly murdered on the bank of the Yarra in 1970 in the vicinity of the Punt Rd Bridge. Any ideas on how I could find out whether or not there are any of his kin surviving, or even to confirm his 2nd marriage? Thanks for any lookups or advice where I could search. A general call, I have spent hours at the SLV trying to find Death & Funeral notices in the Herald Sun and found it most frustrating. You have to wind the machine by hand and the section with what you want is so hard to find. Does anyone have any advice please ? Leanne, Do you know the parents names at all? Only 6 recorded Females with the surname Duckworth and one duckwood And only 3 Betty's recorded for 1920 1 in Brunswick 1 in North Brunswick 1 in Sale Or the other way could be to do a reverse and look for a death if she died before 1985 Or if she married do you know her marriage name?
