    2. Perle
    3. Hello List. This is a longshot and possibly with the scant information I have is impossible to answer. Does anyone have any information of a Catholic Convent for unmarried mother's back in the 1950's. The only info I have is that it was at the terminus of a train journey from the city. I realise this is nothing to really go on, but maybe someone will remember something. Regards. Perle Brooking. Younghusband. South Australia.

    3. G'day Perle, I'm pretty sure it's the one at Broadmeadows that you are looking for. It has been closed for many years now. I'm sure when exactly but at least by 1974 as the then new Geogeghan College (now Penola College) used some of the buildings. It is only approx a 5-10 minute walk from the 'home' to Broadmeadows Station, which was the end of the line in those days. It was run by the Sisters of St Joseph. They still exist as an Order, but I'm not sure where.
