    3. Tony, Thanks for all this. Some of it had had, some was based solely on online trees without verification. I will continue my research with the help of this that you posted. 3. Hi Gail, I have had a look at the Victorian BDM records (available on-line) and have found the following about the King children (although I have only found nine of them - all born at Lake Bolac) Elsie May, 1892-1895 Daisey Issebell (Daisy Isabella) b. 1894. 1912 married William Smith. Lily (Lilian) Elizabeth. 1896-1948. 1914 married Walter Davis. She died at Burnley (Melbourne) Pansy Ilene (Eileen) b.1898. 1917 married George Eric Humphry (Humphries) William Nicklos (Nicholas) b. 1900. 1921 married Vida Bianchi Burnett who died at Heidelberg (Melb.) in 1970 Ronald Edward. 1902-1960. 1926 married Esther Amelia Mundy. Ronald died at Kyabram. Francess (Francis) James b. 1905. 1924 married Christina Iris Bruce who died at Mooroopna in 1939. She was born at nearby Ardmona. Rose Merin (Merron). b. 1905. 1927 married Herbert Joseph Allan Pryer. Seaford Louis (Lewis) 1911-1952 (died at Heidelberg). 1930 married Kath Hesline Kyabram, Mooroopna and Ardmona are all near Shepparton which is the centre of Australia’s canned fruit (peaches, pears and apricots). Lake Bolac is in the western district which was famous for its sheep industry. The big landowners were mainly Scottish protestants and the Irish were the labourers. Some of the marriages require further confirmation. I suggest that you consult the Australian electoral rolls ( available on-line). They will give you details of all adults (those over 20 years old) living in each household. They go up to 1980 and the voting age had been reduced to 18 for the last few of those elections. You may also find more details in the Victorian BDM records. I hope that this helps. His wife, Mary Jane Patterson I believe, was not irish so that perhaps he did not live with or around other Irish immigrants. I hope to figure that out. My goal is to try to navigate Australian genealogical resources and my first impression is that they are less abundant than what I am used to in US records. I am hoping that my impression is incorrect and I figure out how to find more records than I have found so far. I do know when and where Nicholas died. I even found, eventually the article about his sad passing. I hope to eventually find others researching he and his descendants. I was fortunate to find a few cousins through DNA. That is one thing that has sparked my renewed interest in building a better tree of his descendants. It is finding those born or living past 1920 where the challenge is. I will aso post this to Australian lists to find a newspaper resource similar to newspapers.com in the US. I will sign off for now and if you made it to the end of this, thanks for reading. Warmly, Gail Jorgensen ~ Gail Schinnerer Jorgensen ~

    3. Hi Michael I was hoping that I might be able to find something on Michael through Charlotte marriage but no luck. I do not know how much information you have on Michael. I found he was married to Johanna Fahey and had three 3 children in Victoria 1. William Hanson b 1866 in Armadale and died 1867 2. Charlotte Hanson 1867 Timor Vic & died 2 Nov 1945 Concord, Sydney, NSW married Charles Mathias/Matthews 1899 they had Ethel May Charlotte Mathias 1902-1991 and Charles Alexander Daniel Mathias 1911 St Leonards, Sydney. 3. Philip Henson 1870 Timor, Vic died 1947 Vic married to Mary Rosetta Manning in 1913 in Vic she was married to (Henry King 20 Jan 1886 New Zealand 6 children) I know that you think buying Michael death certificate might be pointless to giving who his parents are but you might be able to find if he was born in Australia or how long he might have lived in Australia and other children. Sorry I could not help Cheers Josephine Qld Hi list, This is my first time. I have viewed PROVIC but haven't viewed if they hold the patients records for Melbourne E. Hospital. The man in question is William HENSON who died 1885 aged 70 years on death record #2219. Unfortunately there are no parents displayed so buying his D/C could be pointless. There are many Williams who arrived in Victoria as British subjects. His daughter's M/C states he is a Miner. The other William who died in 1880 is well documented in the newspapers. Any guidance with the query is greatly appreciated. Michele in Sydney<< --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus

    3. Hi Marilyn Sorry it's taken so long school holidays looking after grandkids. Could not find any family trees or a record to directly establish who Stanley Leslie Martin Guilfoyle born 18 Jan 1923 Father & Mother were, but maybe one record on Electoral Rolls. He did married Margaret Georgina Constance McCartney on 20 Nov 1952, she was born 15 May 1926 Belfast Northern Ireland. I think Stanley father as you say is Leslie Davis Guilfoyle the son of Martin Michael G & Elizabeth Bastow. Leslie David G was married to Florence Susan Heal 1921 in Victoria. On the 1949 Electoral Rolls there is a Leslie Davis Guilfoyle- carpenter Florence Susan- home duties June Beryl- Burroughs operator Stanley Leslie - Clerk and this is the one I think is Stanley Leslie Martin Guilfoyle. 3. Hi Josephine, yes I have all that info It was just Arnold wee couldn't find Interestingly my cousin has sent this info Dame Margaret Guilfoyle b.1926(who was a liberal party senator for many years 1971 to 1987) married Stanley Leslie Martin Guilfoyle in 1952 he was a cousin I think to my Mum. Mum use to say to me that Margaret Guilfoyle was her cousin however it was Stanley and Margaret through marriage. I've been trying to track who Stanley's father is to check the relationship. It seems like a different tier as he wouldn't be a son of Michael, maybe a son of one of the first wives children. I'm thinking maybe Leslie David. Any info on this person would be wonderful also this info Martin Guilfoyle's father John Guilfoyle came to Australia as a convict from Ireland to Hobart Tasmania on the Lord Auckland arrived 29/1/1853. His sentence was 7 years for writing a threatening letter to an Englishman who stole his families land. John Guilfoyle managed to do very well and ended up a very prominent person of Powlett Plains, he lived a long life (89 years) This was Michael Martin's Dad Many thanks for your kind help Cheers Marilyn At 12:11 PM 7/07/2019, you wrote: >Hi Marilyn > >I am sorry to say that Arnold is living by himself at 39 Hotham St. East >Melbourne he would be about 22 years old. >As you say it looks like he has just disappear, as there are only two >records on Ancestry his Birth & Electoral Roll. >You would think that he has died, change his name or gone over sea to have >no records. > >He did have a sister Elsie Eileen Guilfoyle b5/9/1916 Brunswick Vic & died >25/6/2006 Greenslopes Qld married 1941 in Vic to Neville Audrey Ralph Davis >b 30/5/1913 Moonee ponds Melb. and died 6/3/1994 Brisbane.
