    3. Hello Hazel As you have found out, there is not a great deal of family history relating to Queensland available on the net. However, I thought the following links may assist your family history research. If you are seeking further information on Kamilaroi family history (North-West NSW and parts of South-West Qld), the Northern Regional Library Service (Moree) has produced a book called Winanga Li (Moree Mob, Volume 1) that is available from the Library (phone 02 6757 3374 or email norl@northnet.com.au). http://www.coraweb.com.au/cemetaus.htm#QLD is a weblink that includes listings for cemeteries across Australia - only a selection of Queensland cemeteries is available, but it may be useful. If you have family links to Mitchell, South-west Queensland - The Nalingu Aboriginal Corporation there have quite a lot of family research - they also produced a booklet in 1985 called "Nalingu: Memories of the Mitchell Yumba". In the booklet there are some family trees as well as photos of local families, particularly those from the Yumba. http://www.une.edu.au/archives/index.html University of New England (Armidale) has an extensive regional archives collection that may be worth a look - the index is searchable and includes records from stations, council, business, etc. Naturally most is related to New England area, but quite a lot of Western Queensland records have ended up there, especially pastoral/sheep stations, etc. http://www.slq.qld.gov.au/jol/tindale/index.htm is a link to the Genealogy Index for the Tindale Collection, State Library of Queensland. The State Library also host a "Footprints Before Me" site which specialises in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander family history - it has useful information, about where/how to find records, etc. There is also a Message Board facility to post your family history or request information - http://www.slq.qld.gov.au/publib/footprints/footprints.htm This is managed by the Indigenous Research Unit of the State Library who are very helpful in providing family history information. Queensland State Archives - http://www.archives.qld.gov.au/ have listings of records, etc. but there is no on-line search facility; you have to physically go to the archives at Runcorn in Brisbane. FAIRA (Foundation for Aboriginal and Islander Research Action) may have some useful information - http://www.faira.org.au/ You may have already tried the Community and Personal Histories section of the Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Policy - http://www.indigenous.qld.gov.au They have a research service if you can supply some basic names/places, etc. - there is a little bit of a waiting list though. I think that's about all - you can try through general Family History sites, but I must admit I haven't had too much luck in this area. Will let you know if I find any more useful sites.
