    3. Hi every one, I posted my interests the other day but I'd like to ask for a bit of advice. You see my Grandmother was supposed to be of aboriginal decent. But because my father was adopted he lost touch with his mothers people. She died as a complication of child birth when he was 18 days old and to tell you the truth I think my grandfather blamed him for her death. We managed to find all his living relatives on his fathers side before the government even confirmed he was adopted. But we've had no luck with his mothers family. I have found his grandmother's marriage and his mother's death and marriage but my problem is that I can't find her birth. I think she may have changed her name , she gave it as Dorothy May CORRIGAN when she married my grandfather Gordon Eric Francis DUNBAR in 1927 at Richmond Qld. She would have been born 1909-1910. Now I have found a Dolly Baitman CORRIGAN born 1909 to a Ellen ELLIS, no father listed. So I'm almost 100% sure this is my grandmother but I'm looking for any thing to prove this. I've tried all the government branches but now one seems to have any info at all on the family. My great grandmothers name was Elisabeth Ellis and she was born at Paddington Blocks NSW c 1881. I think my grandmother had 3 of 4 sisters Alice, Ann and Julia but this info comes from my fathers sister who was 3 when her mother died. I can't find births for the sisters, I did find a brother Peter who died young. They may have been born after 1919?? The only other place I thought I could try was the electrol roll but I'm not sure at what date aboriginal became eligible to vote. Any help would be most appreciated.
