I am researching Mary Ann Mills who was born at Goulburn about 1836. Mary Ann maried John Willoughby on the 30th October 1854 at Braidwood. Her parents were listed as John Mills and Mary Ann. She was baptised on the 21st July 1853 at Araluen, her parents were listed as John Mills and a Native Black. We would love to find out more information about our aboriginal ancestors. Hi Christine. Last year I participated in a weekend field trip around the ACT and the Lake George area. Because of the official definition of Aborigine at the end of the 1800s didn't include anyone of mixed descent, ancestry became quickly hidden. Consider looking up historical records to do with the Lake George area, Lanyon, Queanbeyan, Bungendore, Namadgi, Lake Bathurst and Ngunnawal. Regards, Beth
