Hi, I'm still looking for Corrigan and Ellis family members, from western Queensland. I'd also like to ask if any one knows if there are indexes for NSW that give the full date rather than just the year of a Birth Death or Marriage. Thanks Toni Gall
There is an index called the AGCI (Australasian Genealogical Computer Index), produced by the Society of Australian Genealogists, which contains large numbers of entries from parish registers, especially burials, and also cemetery records. These all give the exact date of the event. The index has been released on microfiche and is available at the Society as well as the State Library of NSW. Many family history societies and libraries may have a copy as well. Another index that gives exact dates is the NSW Probate Index, 1800-1985, which lists deceased people whose estates went through probate, whether or not they left a will. This has also been released on microfiche. Hope this helps. Beryl M.
