    3. Hi Listers, I have, what seems to me, an unsolvable problem. For years it was 'rumoured' that my husband's mothher had AQboriginal blood. No-one in the family knew until some of her old friends at her funeral in 1968 mentioned it. Her early life was thus. Her birth certificate shows her being born to Agnes Wyatt and 'unknown' at the Benevolent Asylum in 1904 when her mother was 18. On a recent trip to Narrabri the Church records showing only one baby with Agnes as a name born that year - Bridget Agnes Wyatt. This Bridget married James Mullins in 1908. Bridget died in 1936 leaving 4 children, including Agnes Lillian and Lillian. My mother in law's namme was Lillian May.. My m-i-l was raised in an orphannage (not sure which one in Sydney), was released at the appropriate age, moved to Nowra annd raised a daughter and 3 sons. Now the current generation is beginning to ask questions. One of my daughters has worked in Aboriginal education and is accepted by Elders as Aboriginal. Others have been told 'you're ours'. So, what should my next step be? Can one see orphanage records? I live in the country. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks. LOL Sue Johnston North Coast NSW sual@felglow.com.au
