Hi Dale, I should put some context to my comments. I worked at AIATSIS for 5 years I left last December. I also have that map. The map has an, ABOUT THIS MAP section it explains that the map was produced using their collections at that time. It also has a very good Disclaimer notice. Both of these explain why some Aboriginal Nations are not on the map and why there are some errors. As the disclaimer says, the map "indicates only the general location of the larger groupings of people". Therefore, it should be considered as a rough guide. Hi Karen, To know for sure you should contact the Port Macquarie Aboriginal Lands Council. I know that Biripi was north of the Manning River around the Taree area but I doubt that they would have stretched up to Port Macquarie. Also in the Taree area there is Worimi and Ngamba people. Most Aboriginal maps are a non-Indigenous person's perspective of the area, recorded well after colonisation and quite often there were smaller nations that were not put on any maps. It is best to get the info from the Lands Council. Hi Marg, My great greandmother was Maud Alice Clark (1885 - 1965). I believe her birth certificate mentions Dry Lake Cowl Cowl. She is buried in the Newcastle area. My grandmother was her first child. Her name was Lorna Mary Theresa Horne although she went by the name of Green as Maud married Charles Green and had heaps of kids. Maud's parents were Henry Clark and Mary Forrest. Lorna's father was Herbert Henry Horne (1881 - 1937). As for the Rudds, I think the tracks have been covered too well. My mother's paternal line goes back to squatters/settlers who established Howlong Station near Carrathool. Many years ago my mother asked her father about the possibility of Aboriginal ancestory and he cracked them claimed "Moorish blood". Mum is Jeanette Alice Rudd. Her dad - Kenneth Victor, then Reginald, then William Jnr, then William Snr then Thomas Rudd and Mary Cable - two convicts. Thanks for looking.
