    3. BlankI am looking for anyone who may know any stories about Cowl Cowl near Hilston NSW, in particular Dry Lake. G Grandmother - Maud Alice Clark(e) G grandfather - Herbert Henry Horn(e) Grandmother - Lorna Mary Theresa Horne (aka Green) Grandfather - Kenneth Victor Rudd Maud had three daughters with Horne then married a Charles Green even though Horne wasn't dead and marriage wasn't dissolved. Eventually settled near Newcastle. Maud apparantly was really upset about Lorna marrying Kenneth but this is understandable as his ancestors were convicts and settled/established Howlong Station (Carrathool). Beth

    3. There is an index called the AGCI (Australasian Genealogical Computer Index), produced by the Society of Australian Genealogists, which contains large numbers of entries from parish registers, especially burials, and also cemetery records. These all give the exact date of the event. The index has been released on microfiche and is available at the Society as well as the State Library of NSW. Many family history societies and libraries may have a copy as well. Another index that gives exact dates is the NSW Probate Index, 1800-1985, which lists deceased people whose estates went through probate, whether or not they left a will. This has also been released on microfiche. Hope this helps. Beryl M. 3. There contact no is 1800 624 332, Paul O'Connor is the best person there to assist with family tree matters. The organisation is not funded speficically to assist with family trees but provide assistance as far as other places to search etc rather than searching on a persons behalf.
