Hi Marlene, I'm very grateful for your offer of help. I have hit a real brick wall with Henry Hogan because I can find no record of his birth in the BDMs or in the records of ST. Mary's in Sydney. His time in San FRancisco and his arrival there are both well documented. Peter John Hogan I can't figure out as his wife ,Ellen , who was born in New York state came out to join Henry and PJ from New York. PJ had obviously been in New York before going to australia and arriving in SF in 1852 with Henry. In San Francisco they both had another Relative called John Church whose mother was MARY HOGAN. I have found her marriage to John Church and the birth of their son John(who was the SF relative).I think what I need to know is where Mary came from in Ireland in hopes that this will get me a lead on Henry's parents. Mary Hogan came as a convict in 1830 on the Forth 11.Any advice you could give me on how to proceed to trace the origins of these people I'd appreciate. There is also no record of Robert and Mary Power's marriage although I have the baptismal certificate of their son,William. Thanks again for your offer.
