Hello Looking for descendants of Patrick Looby and Mary Scanlon of the Clogheen area of Tipperary. Mary was born about 1825 her mothers name was Mary Dooling (Dowling) who was born in 1799. Patrick and Mary had children Johanna, Ellen, Alice and William. The children all emigrated to the Lancefield area of Victoria Australia. Johanna Looby married Patrick Ryan. Their children were Margaret, Ellen, Johanna, Lucy (Mrs Galvin, died in 1963), Patrick, Annie, Alice, Frances (Mrs Frigard, died in 1969), William, and Leo. Leo died at age 90 or so, about 10 years ago and is buried in Lancefield cemetery. Ellen Looby married a Glen or Glynn. This family ran a pub (Star of the West?) in Geelong Victoria for many years. Alice Looby remained unmarried. William Looby married. 2 children. A daughter became a nun, Sr.Brendan and I believe she died in 1957. The other child married a Hayden. Much information to share.
