Hello Sally, We corresponded years ago, about my great grandfather David O'Brien, probably born in Co. Wicklow, about 1850, presumably swam here. His parents were Henry O'Brien and Mary Miller. When he got here, he immediately teamed up with the big O'Toole migrant family from Wicklow. Someone has handwritten on the back of a certificate "Meeting of the Waters"/ Avoca, and I guess that could apply to his birth place. He married an O'Toole descendant, worked as a quarryman at Pyrmont and died of TB. he named his sons henry, francis and thomas, and his daughter mary. Have you any more ideas about him?
