    3. Hi cousins I'm looking for more facts about my very-recently discovered famine orphan, Winifred Mary Minnie Callaghan. She arrived in Australia on the Maria in 1850, aged 14, married Richard Plummer Burgess in 1852, moved to NZ in 1855 or 56, and later, after being widowed, remarried and went back to Sydney. She probably has Burgess and Dyer descendants in Aus, and I'd like to know about them, BUT mainly I'd like to try to trace her place of origin, which for that shipload of girls was apparently southern or south-western Ireland. The name Callaghan is strongly connected to Cork and Kerry. Any suggestions very gratefully received Migs (Margaret) Eder New Zealand -- Quote: There is no problem which cannot be made worse, especially if people claim there's no problem. - Modern / Trad.
