Tracee, I am not sure why you ask me re Lord Stanley, but it is a good co incidence since I have earlier searched the same records for one Ellen Walsh, g.grandmother, from Castle Erkin, Co. Limerick, who "may" have come on Lord Stanley in 1850. Not on the list though her sister's family (Hartigans + 2 children) is, following 6 Walsh family members who came in 1844 (St Vincent. Ellen may have travelled steerage and not recorded. She may not have been on the lord stanley at all. If you are in Sydney, there are on the public area shelves at State Archives, a couple of Books of A3 size old fashioned computer printouts listing in (A) alpha order and (B) ship order, all the passengers and some personal details, around that time. The Hartigans are on it and presumably all other passengers, but it may or may not include steerage. This can then lead you to Emigrant Bounty papers which generally have passengers origins, d.o.b etc, parents back in Ireland, any family in the Colony etc. At State Archives in lower George St. I am not in Sydney, so can't help, at least for now. Internet states as follows at State records of NSW: 1844-59 Index to Assisted Immigrants arriving Sydney and Newcastle (Compiled and published by Archives Office as Guide No.29 in 3 vols.) (Microfiche copy published by State Records as Guide 4 on SR Fiche 2481-2491) Other readers of this message may know of internet addresses where the passenger lists may be available.
