They were quick built houses with tin roofs, stood above the ground. Well, we turned the water on and the dirtiest, smelliest fluid came out. We drank soda for a long time, until we got a filter. Our water was piped from the Murry River for about 300 miles. They figured going that distance in the heat would sterilize it. Debbie S.
