Hi team there is a Hiles surname list, mostly with Americans, and I did post a message there a few weeks ago . . . . If you know any Hiles descendants, I have information on the mother and grandparents of Sydney (1887, Dubbo) John (died as a baby), Winifred M, Maria Minnie, Gertrude LL, Hilda P, and Amelia B (1898, Warren). Their Mum, Elizabeth Julia Ann Burgess (also known as Dyer) died aged 36, so she probably didn't pass on much history. Their gran, Winifred Mary Minnie Callaghan, was a famine orphan who arrived in Aus 1850 on the Maria aged 14 or 15. Tell them to contact me . . . it's nice to have the chance to pass on information, after so many people have been so helpful to me.
