    1. [AUS-IRISH] Saving the 2006 Census information
    2. Margaret Szalay
    3. With half of the information from the 2001 Census destroyed, there is currently a campaign to try to ensure that the information contained in the 2006 Census is saved so that our grandchildren and the family historians of the future have access to the valuable information which the census will collect. The Society of Australian Genealogists (SAG) and the Australian Institute of Genealogical Studies (AIGS) are encouraging a campaign of individual submissions to the Bureau of Statistics by all family historians asking that the ABS retain the information collected for future generations of family historians and other social studies researchers. The deadline for submissions is 30th July 2003. For more details see the AIGS website http://www.aigs.org.au/census2006.htm Margaret Szalay mszalay@bigpond.net.au
