Jacky I looked through my Victorian BDM and couldn't find any Charles Robert Eastons. I also looked at the NSW and Tasmanian BDM's online. Of course that does leave the other states that he could have travelled to, South Australia, Queensland, Western Australia, if he was a sailor like his father he could have ended up anywhere. Are you certain that the other C R Easton on the WWI graves list wasn't the son? I have heard of fathers and sons being on the same ship. I had a look also at the Australian War Records web sites, I found a Charles Easton whose origins/age etc were not recorded. He was in WWII and appears to have joined the Navy. http://naa12.naa.gov.au/scripts/ItemDetail.asp?M=0&B=4416688 I also found a Charles William Easton in Queensland who was born 1911 and next of kin was Charles Easton (father maybe) so there is a long shot for you.
